Let's prepare.
A conversation about your
home and where it's headed.
A consultation is where everything begins — a focused, strategic hour that saves you time, avoids costly mistakes, and sets a clear direction for your home.
This questionnaire helps us understand your space, your priorities, and what you need most, so we can make every minute count.
Before you begin
Set aside 15–20 minutes. Be specific — the more we understand your situation, the more useful your session will be. Have any plans, photos, or measurements to hand so you can reference them as you go.
02
Your project.
Help us understand your home and where you are in your journey.
List the rooms or areas you'd like to discuss — e.g. open-plan kitchen/dining, master bedroom, hallway
03
Focus areas.
Because this is a one-hour session, focus is essential. Tell us where you need the most help so we can prepare accordingly.
What isn't working, what feels stuck, or what are you most uncertain about?
Existing purchases, committed layouts, structural changes — so we build on what's fixed rather than revisit it
04
Your space.
The more we understand your space before the session, the more specific and useful our guidance can be.
05
Style & aesthetic.
We want to understand your taste instinctively, not just technically. The more honest you are here, the better.
Materials, finishes, moods, references — be as specific as you like
Colours, styles, finishes, or trends you'd steer away from
Instagram accounts, Pinterest boards, saved URLs, specific images — anything that speaks to your taste
Share your visuals with us
Please email any inspiration images, floor plans, measurements, or site photos to gail@bygailalexander.com alongside your completed questionnaire. The more context we have before your session, the more focused and useful our time together will be.
06
Budget & investment.
There are no right or wrong answers here. Knowing where you stand helps us give you the most relevant and realistic guidance.
E.g. kitchen, statement furniture, lighting — and where would you rather save?
07
Your questions.
This is your session. Come with questions. The more specific, the more useful the answers.
1
Constraints, sensitivities, previous experiences with designers, household dynamics — anything that might be relevant
